Spectra Yacht Porto Cervo review: crewed yacht charters on the Costa Smeralda, and what they cost

Spectra Yacht Porto Cervo is a yacht charter brokerage with its office on Via Aga Khan in Porto Cervo, the capital of the Costa Smeralda, about 30 km from Palau. It does not run a tour boat. It matches clients with crewed yachts, arranges the itinerary, provisioning and activities, and also offers yacht management and refit services to owners. If you searched for Spectra Yacht La Maddalena hoping for a day trip to the Pink Beach, or for Spectra Yacht escursioni expecting scheduled departures, this review will save you an email.

We checked the company’s site page by page, looked for Spectra Yacht reviews on the usual platforms, and compared what it publishes with how crewed chartering works in northern Sardinia.

What they offer

The site describes three lines of business: charter, yacht management and refit. For travellers, charter is the relevant one. The company says it can draw on more than 1,200 yachts worldwide, which is typical broker language: these are not boats it owns, but boats it can book from owners and management companies.

Formats, as stated on the “about charter” page: larger yachts are normally available for a minimum of one week, while shorter charters are possible in selected areas including Sardinia, Corsica and the Amalfi Coast during the low season of April, May, September and October. In July and August, expect weekly charters only for anything of size.

The Sardinia page names the places a charter from Porto Cervo would reach: the Parco Nazionale dell’Arcipelago di La Maddalena with Caprera, Budelli, Spargi, Razzoli and Santa Maria; coves such as Cala Garibaldi, Cala Napoletana and Cala Coticcio on Caprera and Cala Corsara on Spargi; and Corsica across the Bocche di Bonifacio. The charter guidelines page describes a seven-step planning process, from listening to expectations through yacht selection, itinerary, menus, activities and provisioning to the charter agreement. Diving through PADI centres and water sports from the swim platform are listed as add-ons.

Boats and comfort

Because it is a brokerage, “the fleet” is whatever is available for your dates. The Sardinia page featured six yachts when we checked, from Soulmate at 34.3 m to OKTO at 66.4 m, with Variety Voyager and Atlantic in between. The homepage mentions a Rivarama 44 among the smaller boats.

The one small yacht with a full spec sheet is the Toy 36: 11 m, seven guests, two cabins, one crew, twin 350 hp Yanmar engines, 24 knots cruising. Its home port is listed as Portofino, with delivery elsewhere at extra cost, so do not assume it sits in Porto Cervo. Ask which day boats are actually based on the Costa Smeralda for your dates.

Comfort on a crewed yacht is a different world from a tour boat: cabins, a chef, a tender to reach beaches, and mooring buoys in the park’s coves rather than a crowded anchorage.

Prices and what’s included

Spectra Yacht prices are partly published, which is unusual. As of September 2026 the Sardinia page shows weekly rates from €90,000 for Soulmate to €590,000 for OKTO, with Atlantic at €137,000 and Variety Voyager at €247,650 per week. The Toy 36 day charter is listed at €3,300 for a full day and €2,500 for a half day from Portofino.

What those rates cover, on the Toy 36 example: crew, insurance and snorkelling gear. Excluded: VAT, fuel, food and drink, and moorings outside the home port. Crewed charters on the larger yachts follow the same logic, with running costs handled on top of the charter fee. The site does not publish those terms, so read the charter agreement before paying a deposit.

Two things to ask about that the site does not mention: the park navigation permit for entering the La Maddalena marine area, which the park authority prices by boat length, and the cancellation policy for mistral days on a short charter.

What customers say

We could not find any public customer reviews. The company’s Facebook page showed “not yet rated” when we checked in September 2026, and we found no Tripadvisor or Google Maps review page attributable to Spectra Yacht. That is common for brokerages, whose clients rarely post on tourist platforms, but it means we cannot tell you what the service is like from anything other than the company’s own material. What the company does publish: its VAT number, its status as a certified ship broker, and its membership of ISYBA, the Italian yacht brokers’ association. Those are the checks we would make on any broker.

Departure logistics

The office is at Via Aga Khan 25 in Porto Cervo. Charters board in Porto Cervo marina, or wherever the yacht is berthed; the broker tells you the pontoon. Porto Cervo is roughly 30 km from Palau, and the company offers transfer arrangements as part of its planning service. Insider tip: From Porto Cervo, the run to Spargi and the Budelli pools is long for a single day on a slower yacht. On a day charter, ask the captain to prioritise Caprera’s east coast (Cala Coticcio, Cala Napoletana) and Mortorio, which is part of the park and close to Porto Cervo, and save the north of the archipelago for a multi-day itinerary.

Who should book it, and who should not

Book through Spectra Yacht if you are chartering a crewed yacht for several days or a week, want a broker to handle the itinerary and provisioning, and have the budget the published rates imply. It also suits shoulder-season visitors who want a crewed day boat arranged professionally.
