Noleggio Gommoni Palau review: which company is behind the name, RIB rental prices and what to check

Noleggio Gommoni Palau is what you type when you want a RIB for the day from the port nearest the Parco Nazionale dell’Arcipelago di La Maddalena. It is also the literal Italian for “RIB rental Palau”, which is why the Noleggio Gommoni Palau la Maddalena results are a tangle of look-alike domains. Before writing this review we tried to answer one question: which company actually operates under that name?

The honest answer, as of September 2026: at least three. This page separates them using their own sites and the business registers that surfaced in search. We could not access the Google Maps listing that carries the generic name, so we do not claim which desk owns it. We have no relationship with any of the three.

Who is behind the name

Two further domains (noleggiogommonipalau.it and noleggiogommoniapalau.it) also appear in search; we did not load them and do not attribute them.

What each desk offers

Marina David describes itself as over thirty years in rental, with RIBs with and without licence, skippered excursions to the archipelago and Corsica, a crewed excursion boat and an “island taxi” service. Published hours are 08:00–13:00 and 16:00–20:00 daily. The only hull named on its no-licence page is a Lomac 6.00 m with a 40 hp Yamaha.

Nautica Mascot lists 19 vessels: 18 RIBs from 5.7 m at 40 hp (no licence) to 10 m at 300 hp (licence or skipper), plus a 10 m boat for daily excursions to La Maddalena and Corsica. Mooring and repair services are also offered.

MD Service is a yard as much as a rental desk: recently built RIBs “with every comfort”, boats up to 40 hp without licence and larger with one, plus workshop, storage and dealership for Marlin Boat, BWA, Focchi, Suzuki and Mercury. A Tripadvisor link appears on its site; we did not fetch the listing.

From any of them the self-drive day is the same: two nautical miles across to La Maddalena, then Cala Corsara on Spargi, the Porto della Madonna pools between Budelli, Razzoli and Santa Maria, Spiaggia Rosa seen from the water (landing has been forbidden since 1994), and Cala Coticcio on Caprera if the sea is calm on the east side.

Boats and comfort

Only Nautica Mascot publishes a fleet table, and even that omits capacity per hull. Its no-licence boats are 5.7–6.5 m (Alson, Original, Marsea, Lomac); licence boats run from a 7.5 m Marlin at 100 hp through a 7.75 m Alson at 150 hp to a 10 m Alson at 300 hp. Awnings, ladders, coolers and snorkel gear are not itemised by any of the three. Ask which hulls have a bimini; in July the sun on an open 5.7 m RIB is the thing families regret.

Noleggio Gommoni Palau prices depend entirely on which desk you are at. Nautica Mascot’s 2026 rates per boat per day without skipper, as published on its site in September 2026:

Nautica Mascot’s skippered days are priced per person, €100–150 depending on the month, with lunch, drinks and fuel included. On self-drive rentals fuel is excluded. Marina David and MD Service publish no rates and quote by phone.

Not published by any desk: the security deposit, insurance excess, the park’s daily navigation permit for private boats (bought online from the park, priced by boat length), and what happens to your money when the mistral cancels the day.

Insider tip: Walk the quay the evening before with your dates and party size and ask each desk the same four questions: total price with fuel estimate, deposit and how it is held, who buys the park permit, and the refund rule for wind. Then choose. The three desks are minutes apart and the answers differ more than the boats do.

What customers say

Because the name is shared, public reviews are scattered across each business’s own listings and we could not verify a Google Maps rating for any of them from here. Search snippets attached to the Palau rental category praise friendly, patient staff and quick briefings at more than one desk, and reviewers of neighbouring Palau rentals mention the same things. We found no consistent complaint attributable to a specific one of the three, and no independent evidence strong enough to rank them by service.

Departure logistics

All three operate from or beside the Porto Turistico di Palau; Nautica Mascot gives pier B. Palau is about 40 km and 45 minutes from Olbia airport, with ARST buses. Paid port parking fills by about 09:30 in August, so an 08:30 hand-over means an 08:00 arrival. The strait to La Maddalena is sheltered; the western islands are exposed to the north-west mistral, and on a windy day a 40 hp RIB should stay east of La Maddalena and Caprera.

Who should rent here, and who should not

Rent from one of these desks if you have some boat sense, a group of up to six, and a calm-weather day. Nautica Mascot suits licence holders wanting a bigger hull; MD Service suits people who like renting from the yard that services the boats.

Skip self-drive if nobody in your group has handled a boat, if you are travelling with toddlers, or if the forecast shows mistral. A skippered day, from these desks or via the platforms below, is safer and often no dearer per person.
