Musement La Maddalena review: what the TUI-owned platform offers for the archipelago

Musement started life in Milan as a tours-and-tickets start-up and was bought by TUI Group, which announced the acquisition on 14 September 2018. Today the site trades as TUI Musement and its footer still names Musement S.p.A., via Polesine 13, Milan, as the company behind it. This Musement La Maddalena review covers what that site sells for the archipelago, what its own terms say about cancellation, and whether there is any reason to use it instead of GetYourGuide, our partner, or Viator.

The TUI connection, and why it matters

TUI Group describes TUI Musement as its Tours & Activities division, selling excursions, activities, attraction tickets and transfers in beach and city destinations. For a Sardinia visitor this has two practical effects. If you booked a TUI package, the same app that holds your hotel voucher sells you a boat day. And the seller is an Italian company operating under Italian law, which the terms name explicitly (Legislative Decree 206/2005 on distance contracts). A dispute with a Berlin-based or US-based platform is handled differently.

Beyond that, TUI ownership does not make the boats any different. The archipelago listings are the same local operators you meet at the Palau piers.

Catalogue depth for La Maddalena

The La Maddalena Archipelago page on the UK version of tuimusement.com showed 13 experiences on 2 September 2026, every one labelled “Free cancellation”. Prices were displayed in pounds because of the site version; we give the formats rather than converted figures.

The spread of departure ports is the platform’s best feature: Golfo Aranci in particular is rare elsewhere. The formats, however, stop at the full day. Reviews: the empty room

Look at the rating column again. Most listings showed a single review, several none, and the Golfo Aranci boat carried a 1-star rating from one customer. On GetYourGuide the equivalent Palau boats carried between 2,000 and 3,000 reviews in September 2026. A single 5-star review is not a signal; it is noise. Cancellation and refunds, from the terms

TUI Musement does not publish one platform-wide cancellation deadline. Its terms and conditions (tuimusement.com, terms tab, consulted 2 September 2026) say:

• Bookings advertised as non-refundable cannot be changed or cancelled.
• For refundable bookings, cancelling may cost the full price or part of it, according to the cancellation policy of that excursion, which is communicated in the shopping basket before you pay.
• If TUI Musement cancels an excursion because not enough people booked, you get a full refund or a replacement excursion, with any price difference refunded if the replacement is cheaper.
• For force majeure events (the terms list political disputes, war, terrorism, natural disasters and pandemics among others) refunds are in full.

To cancel, you use the “My Booking” area of the site or contact customer service, and a cancellation confirmation e-mail follows. On the La Maddalena page every product carried a “Free cancellation” label, and the Golfo Aranci listing stated a 100% refund up to one day before the start; we could not open the other listings’ individual deadlines, so read the basket line before paying.

Insider tip: Screenshot the cancellation line in the shopping basket before you confirm. On this platform that line, not a general help page, is the document that defines your deadline.

Weather is not named in the cancellation section. A mistral cancellation is an operator-side cancellation, and in our experience these are refunded across all platforms, but ask the help centre for the written rule if you book in a windy month.

Languages, currencies, tickets and support

The site footer lists 14 languages (both English variants, French, Polish, Swedish, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, German, Dutch, two Portuguese variants, Italian and Spanish) and dozens of currencies. Tour languages on the archipelago listings are Italian and English, with Spanish on the sailing and catamaran products.

Tickets are digital, held in the booking area and the app. Support runs through a help centre and a contact form; we could not verify published hours or a phone number, so do not count on a live agent at 8:00 on the morning of your tour. GetYourGuide and Viator both publish faster channels.

Price parity

Prices on the UK site were shown in pounds, in the same band as the euro prices of the corresponding boats on GetYourGuide once converted at the day’s rate. The park or landing contribution charged by some operators is, as everywhere, cash on the day and outside the online price; check the “not included” list. There is no evidence of a discount for booking here rather than direct.

Who should book on Musement

Use it if you are a TUI package customer with the app already installed, if you specifically need the Golfo Aranci or Olbia-with-transfer departure, or if being covered by Italian consumer law matters to you. Look elsewhere if you rely on reviews to choose a boat, if you want anything beyond a full-day shared trip, or if you may need last-minute help by phone.
